Vegan pizzas, love em or hate em that is the question. There have been many times I bit into a slice of pizza and thought, no, this is just not good enough. But now with businesses like One Planet Pizza (frozen ready made pizzas), Voodoo Rays (by the slice) and now 400 Rabbits (ready to eat pizzas), I’m in pizza heaven.
We hopped over (walked from Forest Hill) to Crystal Palace to try their vegan special and solid vegan menu. The special is truly special. It had all the elements I like separately somehow married together… Vegan sourdough base, Thai Massaman curry sauce, jackfruit, chickpeas, crushed peanuts, pomegranate seeds, red onion and topped with bits of coriander.
Yes, you heard, all those ingredients and it tasted like a mouth party. The flavours were just right and even Joel liked the salty-sweet combination of the sauce with pomegranate seeds.
We also tried the pickled radish, courgette, garlic and pine nut pesto pumpkin seeds, thyme and San Marzano tomato. The pesto was so nice and flavoursome, incomparable with shop-bought pesto.
Padron peppers starter, salty and delicious.
The gelato didn’t have a vegan option but the blood orange sorbets was wonderful.
400 Rabbits are extending the menu run for the collab with Greedy Khao. The Thai Massaman Curry Sourdough Pizza special is extended to Friday 6th of April!
Also try this making this sweet potato base guilt-free pizza at home! It’s delicious and easy to make, a great gluten-free alternative if you use gluten-free flour. A wholesome nourishing base that I topped with artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, red onion and vegan mozzarella.
