“Quit the yo-yo diets, drop the twigs and berries, put down the addictive, processed crap foods and leave the animals outside cause thereās a couple of new chefs in town. Weāve got a common sense approach thatās gonna change your life and an entire industry for the better.Ā The future of food is here and itās Wicked Healthy.”
This. Is. The. Future. Wicked Healthy.
If you haven’t heard of Wicked Healthy and the Sarno Brothers behind it, where have you been? The plant-based pioneers recently developed a whole vegan range for supermarket chain Tesco. They’ve cooked up a storm and captured it in a new cook book which is launching in the UK today.
Chad and Derek Sarno are, as you can tell by the name Sarno Brothers, brothers. Two brothers from America, both with equally impressive resumes. Together with David Joachim they have created a cook book which is ‘80% healthy and 20% wicked’, saving 100% of the animals you don’t have to eat to survive or build muscle!
Trying out their King Satay with Spicy Peanut-Ginger Sauce recipe was a wonderful surprise, it is lovely and spicy. The peanut sauce reminds me of home and what I loved eating as a child. Back then it was cheap chicken mixed with wheat on skewers, now it’s wickedly healthy king oyster mushrooms with satay!

King oyster mushrooms cooked, marinated and weaved onto bamboo skewers ready to be grilled.

Pairing the mushrooms covered in satay with asparagus, coriander and lemon rice was a great combo. Asparagus are in season at the moment. I personally love coriander but if it’s not your cup of tea then try parsley.
The mushrooms have a meaty texture and the peanut sauce is nice and spicy, a great meal to inspire any meat eater to eat more plants!
